Ingredients:
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp sage, 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 9 oz porter beer
- 3/4 cup beef stock

Directions:
- saute onions in butter, light brown
- add pepper, sage and thyme
- add sugar, 2 minutes
- add flour, 3 minutes
- add beer, Worcestershire, reduce
- add broth, reduce to a sauce
serve:
- mashies on plate, bangers on top
- pour gravy over bangers & mash
